History
Established in the spring of 2006, the West Wales Sharks were the new boys of the 2006 season and what was the Western Conference of the Wales Amateur League.
With the likes of the Bridgend Blue Bulls, Aberavon Fightin' Irish and the Swansea Valley Miners in the same conference, the Sharks proved that they were not intimidated by the experience that these teams had in their arsenal.
The 2006 fixtures provided some fantastic open rugby from the Sharks and although there were heavy losses in the Bridgend Blue Bulls games, the Sharks ended their season with two convincing wins against the Fightin' Irish and the Miners.
In 2007, the Sharks welcomed some new exciting players to their squad and moved to Furnace United RFC to play their home fixtures. Despite some close encounters, the Sharks only managed to pick up one victory - against the might of the Cardiff Demons.
However, these closely fought battles reassured players, coaches and supporters, that with a little patience, biugger and better things will surely await the steadily developing Sharks.
